IS MY SKATER TOO SKILLED OR NOT SKILLED ENOUGH TO ATTEND? We take all levels of hockey players, and we divide the players up according to skill levels on the ice starting on Day 1. This allows us to design the drills based on the levels of the student. Concepts will remain the same but the actual drills will be adjusted to challenge each player to the maximum. |
WHAT SKATING SKILLS ARE STRESSED AT YOUR CAMPS? Draft Choice Hockey covers all aspects of skating used in hockey, including: Forward & Backward Stride, Crossovers, Quick Starts, Stopping, Speed with Pucks, Transition Moves, Fakes, etc ... rather than telling a student what to do, Draft Choice Hockey always stresses HOW TO DO IT and WHY IT IS IMPORTANT IN A GAME! |
DO YOU USE PUCKS? Absolutely!!! At every Program, we teach how to skate faster with and without the puck! Draft Choice Hockey will demonstrate to the player the area where the puck should be placed in relation to the body in order to gain maximum stride efficiency and speed. The Puck Protection taught at Draft Choice Hockey is at the Top of the game. |
DO YOU HAVE SESSIONS FOR FEMALE PLAYERS? Female players are welcome at all our programs if they meet the age and ability requirements. These programs are designed with the help of Canada's top women hockey players. |
HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN A CLASS? We make every effort to keep our student/instructor ratio low. Our normal ratio is 1: 4 to 1: 6. |
ARE ALL YOUR INSTRUCTORS QUALIFIED TO TEACH HOCKEY SKILLS/CONCEPTS? Meet The Team. All of our instructors have a qualified hockey background through playing (past or present), and coaching. As well, most of our instructors are Teachers and graduates of Draft Choice Hockey. The Head Instructors of Draft Choice Hockey hold instruction clinics for all staff members. This ensures us that the same techniques and skills are taught at all Draft Choice Hockey camps. Our Junior instructors are all former students which allows us to teach the players with consistency. We are always re-evaluating our techniques to make sure that our performance is professional and educational! For further information please e-mail us: Draft Choice Hockey. |
